Backflow/Cross Connection Prevention Certification Class
March 21, 2016 – March 26, 2016
The Blue Grass Cross Connection Prevention Association (BGCCPA) along with the Indiana Chapter of the American Backflow Prevention Association, is sponsoring a Backflow/Cross Connection Control training class the week of March 21, 2016. This training will be held at the Georgetown Wastewater Treatment Plant #2 located at 900 Cherry Blossom Way, Georgetown Kentucky 40324. The cost of the certification class is $766.00 per student. The cost covers the following:
- Forty hours of classroom instruction based on information obtained from the 10th Edition Manual of Cross Connection Control and Hydraulic Research presented by the University of Southern California (USC)
- A copy of the 10th Edition of the USC Cross Connection Control Manual
Study folders and equipment drawings - 2016 Annual Certification Fees and membership with the Blue Grass Cross Connection Prevention Association
- Training will begin at 8:00 am on March 21, 2016 and will continue through March 25, 2016. The final written and practical exam will be Saturday, March 26, 2016. Students who successfully pass the certification class will be certified as a Backflow Prevention Device Tester for Indiana and BGCCPA.
Training will include; device hydraulic operations, approved testing procedures, proper installation and maintenance requirements and tester liability for theReduced Pressure Principle Device (RPZ), Double Check Valve Assembly (DCVA), Double Check Detector Check Assembly (DCDA), Pressure Vacuum Breaker (PVB), Atmospheric Vacuum Breaker (AVB), Spill Resistant Vacuum Breaker (SPV) and the Air Gap (AG). Each student is required to supply their own tools, consisting of a slotted and regular screwdriver, and a set of pliers. Meals and accommodations are the responsibility of each student.
