BACKFLOW PREVENTION/CROSS CONNECTION CONTROL

CERTIFICATION CLASS

MARCH 20, 2017 – MARCH 25, 2017

 

The American Backflow Prevention Association (“ABPA”) – Indiana Chapter is pleased to provide training at the Kentucky American Water Company (“KAWC”) located at 2300 Richmond Road in Lexington, Kentucky 40502.  The training schedule has been set for the week of March 20, 2017 with final exam to be held on March 25, 2017.    The KAWC Point of Contact (“POC”) has been established with Kenny Roney, 859-268-6310.

 

Training will consist of 40 hours’ instruction with a practical examination based on information obtained from the 10th Edition Manual of Cross Connection Control and Hydraulic Research presented by the University of Southern California (“USC”).

 

Training will include device hydraulic operations, approved testing procedures, proper installation and maintenance requirements and tester liability for the Reduced Pressure Principle Device (“RPZ”), Double Check Valve Assembly (“DCVA”), Double Check Detector Check Assembly (“DCDA”), Pressure Vacuum Breaker (“PVB”), Atmospheric Vacuum Breaker (“AVB”), Spill Resistant Vacuum Breaker (“SPV”) and the Air Gap (“AG”).

 

The cost of the class is $766 for each student. This cost includes the following:

 

  1. Forty hours of USC training
  2. 10th Edition of the USC Cross Connection Control Manual
  3. Study folders and equipment drawings
  4. Membership and Certification in the Blue Grass Cross Connection Prevention Association for the year 2017.

 

Since the training includes work in a “wet lab”, all students should bring a slotted and flat edge screwdriver, and a “Channel Lock” type plier.
